| Abstract | The purpose of this manual is to assist the trainer of hand tubewell caretakers in conducting training. It provides some ideas, practical suggestions and information related to the trainer's role and responsibilities during a one day training session of caretakers. After this one day training, the participant will be able to: i. carry out day to day maintenance of the hand tubewell; ii. identify the problem of a defect pump; iii. repair the pump; iv. understand the relation between safe water and health; and v. practice simple hygienic habits to improve their health. |
