Abstract | This slide series shows the water projects of south west Tanzania. This series is a composition of 8 water related subjects. First it describes the catchment area and intake structures. It indicates that the catchment area of a surface water source should be protected, which means that the intake is protected and this will probably result in a reliable water source. The second subject is the water transmission. The third part covers the storage system. It describes the storage reservoirs and this construction. The fourth theme deals with the domestic tap-points, this maintenance and the drainage system. The fifth subject is latrines. The sixth part deals with community involvement as a means of improving village water supply. The seventh subject covers the way in which the village generates its income. The last part of this series describes the construction of site camps. |
