Innovations in Sustainability for Water and Sanitation Services, Monday 17:45-18:45, Room T2
As the world is poised to establish sustainable development goals, this side event showcases innovations in sustainability in water and sanitation. A very high proportion of water and sanitation services are dependent on aid: lack of service sustainability and high breakdown rates are a debilitating and perennial characteristic of services supported by aid. The event will present key ideas and innovations on what needs to change to build services that reach the poor and that last. It will feature global speakers, who, whilst sharing the outcomes of the April 2014 Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) High Level Meeting with the broader water community, will also present leading new approaches to improve service sustainability.

Bridging Water & Energy Service Delivery with Mobiles and Information Technology, Wednesday 14:00-17:30, Room K21
Mobile and ICT are fundamentally changing service sectors and how sustainable water and energy are delivered. For water, smartphone-based monitoring of services has been embraced by local government & NGOs and automated monitoring of water supplies and customer support services are changing the way water is governed. This session builds on the rapidly growing body of experiences and invites water and energy leaders to share lessons on how these technologies are changing the way services are delivered, paid for, and how success is measured using data.

This year, Water For People and IRC will showcase our collective Everyone Forever approach. Visit our booth at the exhibition hall B01:63!

In 2013, IRC and Water For People agreed to collaborate by aligning each organization's current and future programming to achieve Everyone Forever (EF). Everyone Forever is an envisioned end state in water and sanitation, where water continuously flows and sanitation services remain viable at scale. EF is designed to model successful and universal water and sanitation service delivery across rural districts and cities, reaching the poorest and hardest to reach, and doing so in a way that uses philanthropic and donor support catalytically, declining over time, as other sources of funds are allocated to establishing and sustaining these service increases.
