Taken together, these experiments will contribute to the sustainability and quality of rural water services. More importantly, by building sector capacity to take a rigorous and evidence-based approach to change, the experiments will pave the way for future innovation and informed policy making.

In Uganda, the following experiments have been undertaken:

  1. Analysing performance of service delivery models
  2. Facilitating local monitoring of rural water service delivery
  3. Developing business model for hand pump mechanics associations
  4. Using mobile phones to improve functionality of rural water sources
  5. Adopting sub-county model to improve operations and maintenance
  6. Strengthening learning and adaptive capacity through learning alliances
  7. Updating district implementation manual to improve harmonisation and coordination

Triple-S has also been leading a process of innovation and experimentation in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mozambique and India
