IRC country director of Ghana Vida Duti reflects back on 2014 and sets her goals for the coming year: consolidating the successes!

2014 has been largely about "Good news from Ghana"! From our office in Accra with field officers in Northern, Volta, Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions we have worked hard together with local government and other partners on rural water monitoring in Ghana.
It was the final year of Sustainable Services at Scale - or Triple-S, the successful research programme where IRC collaborated with partners to strengthen key building blocks for sustainable water and sanitation services. 2015 will be the year to consolidate these successes.
Thanks to funding from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, we are now scaling up the initiative from the three pilot districts to at least ten districts. The aim of the investment is to ensure that over the next three years, 1.3 million people in Ghana will have access to lasting water services. Indeed, we are now firmly on the path of strongly influencing, scaling up and continuing to build knowledge and partnerships to effectively create sustainable rural water services for all.
It is within our reach! Ghana can achieve its national vision of access to water and sanitation services for all by 2025 if we work together.
I am proud to be part of this movement, working closely with Government and NGOs. My wishes for the coming year? Let 2015 be the year to strengthen our excellent partnerships even more, and to continue our ambitious efforts to scale up the good work. It is within our reach! Ghana can achieve its national vision of access to water and sanitation services for all by 2025 if we work together.
