About this webinar

The challenges of the pandemic have put forth opportunities for innovations in design and strategies in maintaining good hand hygiene. As part of the series of webinars 'Advancing Hand Hygiene for All: Innovations, Behavior change, and Measurement', we are organising a seond webinar in the series that is focus on creating lasting handwashing habits.

The objective of this webinar is to bring together sectoral and communication experts along with government representatives to discuss evidence on handwashing with soap (HWWS) practice and capacity of service providers to integrate and amplify methods and approaches for hand washing promotion to strengthen HWWS programming. The focus will be on the body of evidence that maps the current practice levels of HWWS along with the socio-cultural, motivational factors and emotional drivers that nudge individuals to sustainably adopt hand hygiene behaviours for their own good health and that of their families and communities. The webinar will discuss social and behaviour change strategies for creating an enabling environment for communication on HWWS which will ultimately contribute to creating a culture of hygiene in homes, schools, health care facilities and public places.
