Jane Nabunnya, director of IRC Uganda will be featuring on Monday 19 October 2020, from 9:00-10:00 am EAT on Next Radio 106.1 to discuss the importance of handwashing. Watch and or listen by tuning through https://nextradio.co.ug/live

The interview is part of a wider series of radio shows organised by the National Handwashing Initiative, and part of the wider celebratory activities organised by the Ugandan Ministry of Water and Environment in light of Global Handwashing Day on 15 October.

IRC Uganda also supports the official programme organised by the Ministry on Global Handwashing Day, Thursday 15 October. The event will take place in the Ministerial audtorium and the programme will feature representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports, remarks by the chairperson of the National Sanitation Working Group, Eng Sam Mutono; remarks by the chairperson-NHWS Eng. Eyatu Joseph; opening remarks from the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Alfred Okot Okidi; presentations on the National Handwashing Campaign (UNICEF), presentations on the role of civil society organisations in large scale promotion of handwashing (UWASNET), and a presentation on the role of the private sector in large scale promotion of handwashing in Uganda (Unilever). The event will be closed by the Minister.
